Prepress Plate Mounter

About the role

Operate state-of-the-art printing presses to deliver high-quality printing and finishing services for film, paper, and specialty materials.

Work alongside 160 employee-owners in a collaborative environment, monitoring production quality, troubleshooting equipment issues, and participating in comprehensive training programs.

Responsibilities

• Translate written and computer-generated layout specifications into plate requirements.
• Prepare plates to be mounted.
• Clean plates if necessary.
• Minor repairs if needed.
• Apply plates properly and using correct materials.
• Properly set up jobs using plate mounters.
• Perform visual inspections of plates and plate components for defects.
• Identify and troubleshoot print issues related to plates, sleeves, and inks.
• Complete required documentation and obtain necessary signatures.
• Filing plates to ensure integrity of the plates and filing system.
• Participate in quality, continuous improvement, and safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and lift up to 65 pounds.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools.
• Strong communication skills and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a technical environment.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Qualifications

• One year of manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Strong time management skills.
• Perform basic math skills.
• Able to obtain accurate geometric measurements with a variety of instruments.
• Strong self-starter who encourages self-motivation.

Pay

Starting Salary: Wages ranging from $25.00 - $28.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Schedule

Work only 15 days per month with our unique 2-2-3 schedule. Work: Monday & Tuesday – Off: Wednesday & Thursday – Work: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday Off: Monday & Tuesday – Work: Wednesday & Thursday – Off: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday 12-hour static shifts (Nights - 6:00pm – 6:00am)
