Prepared Plant Superintendent
About the role
Supervise and direct department employees ensuring adherence to safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance, while producing quality products. Assist the Manager in staffing and continuous improvement of the department through training, coaching, leading, and supervising. Enforce Company policies, procedures, regulations, and GMPs within your department. Produce and distribute reports as required. Ensure customer standards and expectations are met. Assist in relationship communication with USDA Inspectors and Quality Assurance team members. Assist with interview, selection, training, onboarding, and coaching of new and existing supervisors and production team members. Lead and assist with preparation for 3rd party and internal audits. Perform all other relevant duties related to the position.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Food, Animal or Poultry Science, or other closely related field of study preferred.
- 3+ years of supervisor experience required, preferably in poultry or meat processing.
- Proficient technology, computer, mathematics, and analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- English language skills required; Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
- Frequently sit for long periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
- May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments.
- Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
