Prepared Foods Assistant Team Leader

About the role

Provides leadership to team members through coaching and mentoring, fostering business growth via merchandising initiatives and building customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food quality, safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance standards are met.
• Supervise prepared food team to maximize productivity and efficiency in the absence of the manager.
• Assist in controlling operational expenses, managing budgets, and understanding financial reports.
• Organize staff schedules, enforce policies, and promote customer satisfaction through event support and competitor awareness.
• Maintain food storage in compliance with health standards, including labeling, cross-contamination prevention, and temperature control.
• Keep accurate records for audits and analyze customer feedback to identify improvement areas, coaching team members accordingly.
• Ensure proper stock levels and out-of-stock procedures.
• Support team development and identify candidates for management programs.
• Prepare food through cooking, chopping, and following recipes; set up displays and package products, checking dates regularly.
• Engage in suggestive selling, product sampling, and maintaining attractive displays.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience, preferably with food safety knowledge.
• High school diploma or equivalent; food safety certification required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be at least 18 years old.
