Kickoff Event: Back-to-School Bash
Kick off the school year with an afternoon of fun, laughter, and encouragement!
- Join us for Armour Boulevard's annual Back-to-School Bash on August 12.
- Students and families celebrate the start of a new school year.
- Volunteers will assist with setup, games and activities, backpack distribution, food service, and cleanup.
- Arrive by 11:30 AM for setup.
- The event runs from 12:00–1:30 PM, with cleanup wrapping up around 2:00 PM.
- This is an outdoor event, so wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
- Come share your time, your energy, and your smile as we help students start the school year on a high note!
About the Role
Phoenix Family works alongside families, children, and older adults who live in affordable housing communities across the Kansas City area.
With an average household income just over $11,000 a year, one unexpected expense or crisis can put stability at risk. What makes the difference is having support that’s close by, practical, and built around real life.
Our programs are based where people live. That means tutoring and mentoring for kids, coaching and support for families working toward financial stability, and opportunities for older adults to stay connected, supported, and engaged as they age in place.
