About the role

Sifted is opening a new corporate catering space in Redwood City and seeks a highly motivated Prep Cook / Server to help launch this year. This hybrid role will fill one or multiple positions daily, reporting to the Lead Host or Lead Line Cook across Breakfast, Hot Hands, Wrap Culture, or Rotating Plate concepts. The position requires flexibility to work across stations as needs change and comfort engaging with guests. Ideal for a Prep or Line Cook with 1–2 years of experience looking to join a rapidly growing company.

Schedule

Monday - Thursday // 6:30am - 2:30pm

Responsibilities

• Work one or multiple stations daily, following directions from the Lead Host or Lead Line Cook.
• Ensure labeling, organization of pans and delis, and discard expired products from storage.
• Execute strict quality control and act as Sanitation and Safety Champion in the kitchen.
• Assist with daily deep-clean tasks and comply with sanitary regulations and safety standards.
• Support the Executive Chef in production, packout, and clean-up discussions.
• Help develop and refine kitchen systems.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a full-service, moderate-to-high-volume restaurant, club, or catering establishment.
• Comfort interacting with guests, including serving, answering questions, and identifying allergies.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions for prepping, serving, and cleaning.
• Lead by example in production, attitude, cleaning, and punctuality.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation standards set by the local Health Department.
• Work efficiently to maximize team output and minimize labor hours.
• Maintain a calm and collected demeanor.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Must maintain a California State Food Handlers Card.

Work environment

This position is based in a commercial kitchen.

Physical requirements

Requires standing for up to 6 hours at a time and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
