Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant in Columbia, TN is seeking energetic and positive Prep Cooks to join our kitchen team. Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food products, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads, and other items using kitchen equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List.
• Perform minor machine maintenance and set up ingredients for production.
• Assign and oversee overall food production as needed.
• Assist in final plate preparation, including plating, garnishing cooked items, and preparing garnishes for all hot menu items.

Requirements

• Must pass the federally mandated E-Verify process.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a professional restaurant kitchen.
• Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel, and guests.
• Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).
• Able to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
