Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and kitchen standards.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately to support line cooks and chefs.
- Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency and quality.
- Label, date, and properly store food items in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, walk-ins, and dry storage areas.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, mixers, food processors, and knives.
- Absorb deliveries, inspect, and store them in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
- Support line cooks during service as needed.
- Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean work environment throughout shifts.
- Ensure all prepped items are ready and stocked for service.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- (Experience with Mediterranean food is a plus.)
- Knowledgeable on food safety guidelines.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Bilingual (not required however, it is a huge plus.).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
