About the role
The Prep Cook is an entry-level position ideal for chefs beginning their culinary careers. This role supports daily operations through ingredient preparation, organization, and maintaining kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries after they have been checked in by the Purchaser
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices; label and store all products correctly
- Maintain walk-in refrigerators, including organization, consolidation, and product rotation
- Prepare mise en place for various stations to support service
- Aid with stock production and other basic kitchen preparations
- Uphold all DOH (Department of Health) standards and food safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
Qualifications
- 1 year of restaurant kitchen experience preferred
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work cleanly, efficiently, and with attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($19.00 - $20.00)
