Prep Cook

About the role

We’re seeking a talented and reliable prep cook to join our back-of-house team!

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food items are prepared, portioned, and ready for service according to Big Bad Breakfast’s high standards of quality and consistency.
• Prepare ingredients and recipes according to established specifications.
• Wash, chop, measure, and store ingredients properly.
• Follow daily prep lists and prioritize tasks to meet service demands.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, walk-ins, and storage spaces.
• Label, date, and rotate all food products to maintain freshness and food safety.
• Assist line cooks and other team members during busy service periods.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management.

Qualifications

• Previous prep or line cook experience preferred, but we’ll train the right person.
• Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
