Prep Cook - AM/PM

Classic Club in Palm Desert, California, is seeking a driven individual for a seasonal part-time AM/PM Prep Cook role. This position is part of Troon, a global leader in golf and community management.

About the role

The Food Preparer is responsible for preparing various food products. This is a seasonal position with an expected duration of six months or less.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation.
• Maintains quality control for all products, including monitoring freshness of product daily.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart.
• Prepares appropriate equipment for cooking.
• Operates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling, and kneading of food products.
• Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed, including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products.
• Receives and inventories food and beverage product and supplies.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstation and equipment.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by Department Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Food Safety and Sanitation Training.
• Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform duties (e.g., communicating with English-speaking customers or co-workers, understanding equipment manuals in English).

Physical Demands

• Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes, and smells.
• Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms.
• Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
• Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

• Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather.
• Noise level is moderate.

Pay

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
