The Premium Suite Attendant (VIP) plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience in our VIP and Owner's suites at the SoFi Center for each TGL season and year-round private events. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about creating memorable experiences for guests by anticipating their needs and exceeding expectations.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $30.00 and is tip eligible.
About The Venue
Oak View Group is the venue manager and food and beverage provider of the SoFi Center, a first-of-its-kind venue located in Palm Beach Gardens on the campus of Palm Beach State College. TGL presented by SoFi is a new golf league, combining advanced technology with teams of top players from the PGA TOUR for two-hour weekly competitions in prime time. Matches air on ESPN and the ESPN app in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup of food service areas within specific owners' suites and VIP club areas based upon pre-order or match day menus as available
- Ensure all assigned suites are set prior to event based upon communication received of orders
- Organize and prepare events in assigned locations
- Assist in closing out financials per event and ensure correct billing takes place
- Monitor and maintain food quality
- Follow all company policies and procedures, uphold safety and sanitation standards, and ensure a positive atmosphere for team members and guests
- Monitor and enforce safe alcohol policies and procedures
- Monitor and maintain inventory control and product requisition fulfilling
- Have full knowledge of food and beverage menu items and accompaniments
- Serve beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages
- Check guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
- Observe and engage with guests to respond to any additional requests
- Ensure suites have all necessary serving ware and equipment for smooth service
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
- Assure that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event
- Recognize guests that are visibly intoxicated and take action to cut off alcohol to such individuals
- Ensure all assigned suites are fully broken down after the event
- Perform all other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors
Requirements
- 2-3 years’ experience working in a premium food & beverage or customer service role
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for some morning, noon, and evening shifts on an on-call/event-based schedule
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess valid ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate
- Possess valid ServSafe or eTIPS Alcohol Certificate
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
- Ability to calculate basic math functions as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory
