PreK Teacher

About the role

The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission is seeking a PreK Teacher to join their team. They provide services across Champaign County, focusing on generating possibilities for all within the community through various programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage the classroom and implement a developmentally appropriate educational program tailored to the individual needs of each child.
• Ensure compliance with Illinois Early Learning Standards.
• Provide leadership for students, fostering a positive learning environment where children can gain essential skills and attitudes for future school success.
• Create and maintain a supportive and welcoming environment for staff, families, and children.
• Foster a sense of safety for all individuals in the classroom.

Requirements

• Ability to meet all DCFS requirements, including a physical and criminal background check.
• Illinois Early Childhood Professional Educator License (EC PEL).
• Experience working with preschool children preferred.
• Ability to lift children.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Qualifications

• Competitive starting hourly wage of \$31.42.
