About the role
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the Pre-Kindergarten.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements individual education plans for each student.
- Develops and implements behavioral intervention plans.
- Understands special education state and federal regulations, including Special Education Part C and school-based services.
- Implements research-based teaching methodology based on diagnostic needs assessment.
- Communicates effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Uses educational technology tools and software.
- Collaborates with colleagues to contribute to the total school functioning.
Requirements
- Proper Maine Teacher Certification, endorsement 282B, 282 for Early Childhood preferred.
- Experience working with students who have Autism and emotional disabilities.
- The ability to develop and implement individual education plans.
- The ability to develop and implement behavioral intervention plans.
- A strong understanding of special education state and federal regulations.
- Experience in implementing research-based teaching methodology based upon diagnostic needs assessment.

- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
