Preconstruction Manager - Fort Collins

Responsibilities

• Cook up and effectively communicate pre-construction processes with owners, design teams, and subcontractors
• Help the operations team pick projects to bid on
• Handle and maintain multiple estimates/budgets simultaneously, and assist in reviewing responsibilities for multiple estimates
• Create and maintain pre-construction schedules for multiple projects
• Develop and modify front-end bidding documents for Hausmann Construction, as well as coordinate documents from the design team for multiple bid packages
• Define and write scopes of work
• Generate and coordinate bid schedules
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Organize and manage bid turnovers to the project management team
• Assist and review final cost reports with the project team and conduct post-bid reviews
• Prepare, present, and secure new work, including design-build projects
• Coordinate and manage the transition from pre-construction to construction phase; ensure PM and Superintendent are involved before starting construction
• Perform other related pre-construction duties as needed

  Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction-related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in estimating, proposals, project management, or other construction-related areas
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques, and experience with OnScreen takeoff software is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction practices, contract laws, project controls, and building support systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with various people and teams
  • Proactive, self-motivated, creative, flexible, and adaptable to new situations
