Preconstruction Engineer

About the role

Support the preconstruction team in delivering accurate, competitive, and well-organized project estimates. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone eager to learn and grow under the mentorship of experienced preconstruction professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs under the supervision of Preconstruction Managers and Estimators
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bid packages
• Conduct subcontractor outreach and collect bid information
• Support design reviews, constructability analysis, and cost data tracking
• Participate in client and design team meetings as appropriate
• Learn company systems, processes, and standards through hands-on training
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in construction, 1+ year of experience in estimating
• Strong desire to learn and build a career in preconstruction
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to estimating software is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
