About the role

Beck is seeking a Preconstruction Analytics Engineer to join their project team. This role focuses on preconstruction analytics practices and subject matter expertise that supports the organization with reliable, timely, and fact-based historical project cost information.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering, preparing, and loading historical cost data from internal and external sources.
  • Producing reports and insights from gathered data.
  • Monitoring and assisting with estimate data quality, including meta data health checks, line item reviews, and coaching team members on proper data standards.
  • Developing a foundational understanding of CMiC accounting system data (projects, job cost, subcontracts, vendors, departments, and changes).
  • Gathering and reviewing economic data for escalation analysis.
  • Updating the Beck Cost Index and assisting with quarterly projection updates.
  • Producing escalation reports for specific date ranges and locations.
  • Contributing to the bi-annual Beck Cost Report by preparing comparisons, updating workbooks, and incorporating internal feedback.
  • Learning basics of DAX, Power Query, and data modeling for Power BI.
  • Using Precon Analytics dashboards to provide insights or as tools for tasks.
  • Taking DESTINI Estimator trainings.
  • Supporting best practices and data quality in DESTINI Estimator.
  • Supporting and developing functionality in Beck’s Excel Bid Tab.

Requirements

A person with the willingness to learn and be mentored under talented Senior Preconstruction Managers. This individual has a comprehensive understanding of building construction, excellent time management and organizational skills, a passion to get things done, and possesses uncompromising authenticity and integrity. This individual must have interest in the integrated project delivery method, sharing physical and mental space with fellow design team members, and a deep desire for innovating in process improvement and technology.

Qualifications

Frequent use of computers and other office productivity equipment; frequent ascending/descending of ladders and stairs; constant movement on uneven surfaces; ability to communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of the project team; ability to stand for long periods of time; ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
