Precision Projectiles Development Associate Director

About the Role

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking an Associate Director to serve as the Precision Projectiles Development Program Manager for the Excalibur Hit to Kill (HTK) and Extended Range Artillery Projectile (ERAP) programs. Both HTK (XM1180) and ERAP (XM1230) are part of the Excalibur Weapon System designed to extend the range and seeker capability of 155 mm artillery projectiles.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for program integration, coordination, and direct engagement with the program team and functional partners in pursuit of day-to-day program execution.
• Ensure meeting contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance of assigned program(s) within contractual boundaries and company expectations.
• Develop, inform, and achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Plan (LRP) goals and objectives.
• Advocate Program Management plans, processes, and business objectives, including management of Earned Value metrics and Risk and Opportunity processes.
• Serve as the primary interface with U.S. Army Government Leaders to develop and influence program priorities, execution, and funding strategies.
• Develop program-enhancing partnerships with internal functional organizations.
• Accountable for on-time completion of proposal and associated capture and startup activities.
• Collaborate with Financial Planning to ensure top-level Master Phasing and Integrated Master Schedules meet program strategies, objectives, and milestones.
• Lead internal reviews and executive briefings pertaining to all pursuits, including Gates, EACs, contract proposals, negotiation and definitization, and contract closeout efforts.
• Shape future capture strategy and develop win strategies that enable follow-on contract phases in coordination with the Requirements & Capabilities organization.
• Support domestic and international travel as needed.

Requirements

• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Experience developing and reviewing cost proposals.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience with technical, cost, and schedule requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of projectile weapon systems and Army production and development programs.
• Working knowledge of contract formation, execution, and management.
• Proficiency with program management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to advise and influence functional leaders, business development, global supply chain, and internal program leaders to secure necessary financial (IR&D, Capital) and staffing resources.
• Program Management Certification or ability to obtain; track record in successfully leading IR&D, NBI, and/or customer-funded programs/projects.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $157,200 – $298,800 USD.
