Pre - TDP Trainee

Key Job Responsibilities

• Aid in performing basic auto body repairs, such as dent removal, sanding, and painting under the supervision of experienced technicians.
• Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and efficiency in the workplace.
• Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
• Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Education And/or Experience Required

• A High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
• Trade/Vocational school graduates are preferred.
• Some on-the-job experience is preferred.
• I-CAR Gold Class certification is preferred.

Required Skills And Abilities

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand for long periods of time during vehicle repair.
• Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
• Able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts.
• Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills.
• Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred but not required.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving.
• Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace.

• Continuously strive to improve the efficiency of the production department and overall company operation, and be willing to participate in company meetings.
• Participate in training programs as required to maintain the technical and professional skills and techniques necessary for this position.
• Extend normal working hours as necessary to accommodate workload and customer requirements.

Requirements To Qualify For Entry Into TDP

• Mentor agrees to accept trainee.
• No unplanned absences.
• No tardiness violations.
• Works with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30-day time frame.
• Passes final Pre-TDP assessment.
• Mentor signs training agreement.
