Pre-operative Clinical Nurse

About the role

This position involves providing direct patient care in a fast-paced PACU environment, focusing on recovery for neuro, transplant, ortho, ENT, cardio, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and spine patients. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care within established standards, promoting patient and family-centered care and ensuring safety and quality compliance. Responsibilities include educating patients and families, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team. Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional patient needs
• Develop and document individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on post-treatment care
• Participate in safety initiatives, quality improvement, and professional development activities
• Collaborate effectively within an interprofessional team

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Licensure: RN license required
• Experience: No prior experience necessary; 2+ years preferred for higher roles
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
• Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a high-pressure setting
