About the role

Wanta Thome Employment Lawyers is adding an early‑career attorney to work directly with the lead pre‑litigation attorney. You will receive delegated work across the docket, own each task from assignment to completion, and receive coaching and feedback as you build negotiation and case‑resolution skills. The position is full‑time and based remotely within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Own every delegated task: complete work on the date committed, right the first time.
  • Provide negotiation support: prepare valuation memos, response letters, and negotiation plans for the lead attorney; handle calls and negotiations as your skill grows.
  • Ensure clients on your matters hear from you within one business day, including when there is no news, and receive bad news early by phone.
  • Take on a growing share of work: over the first year, the lead attorney will delegate more matters, negotiations, and judgment calls as your performance earns it.
  • Track turnaround and rework on your weekly Scorecard.

Requirements

  • Admission to practice in Minnesota or Illinois, or admission in another U.S. jurisdiction with the ability to obtain MN or IL bar admission within 12 months of start date (July 2026 bar takers encouraged to apply).
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade people and move them off a position (law‑school clinics, moot court, mediation, sales, recruiting, or prior career).
  • Evidence of carrying volume and hitting deadlines without being chased.
  • Eagerness to accept frequent, direct coaching and promptly incorporate feedback.
  • Plaintiff‑side employment interest or experience is a plus.
  • Negotiation experience in any setting is a plus.

Benefits

  • Health and dental insurance
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • Vacation and holidays
