Responsibilities
- Oversee a high-volume portfolio of plaintiff personal injury matters in the pre-litigation phase
- Develop case strategies and evaluate claims for liability, damages, and settlement potential
- Lead settlement negotiations with insurance carriers, defense counsel and other involved parties
- Work closely with the partner and associate attorney to maximize case value and drive timely resolutions
- Review medical records, demand packages, supporting documentation and case developments
- Advises case managers on case strategy, negotiation readiness and next steps
- Handle statutory liens and treating physician liens throughout the settlement process
- Evaluate settlement offers and provide clear recommendations based on case value and client interests
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal team members
- Ensure matters move efficiently toward resolution while maintaining accuracy and quality
- Collaborate with case managers, assistants, paralegals, and firm leadership
Requirements
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
- At least five years of relevant legal experience strongly preferred
- Substantial plaintiff-side pre-suit personal injury experience
- Proven negotiation and settlement experience with the ability to close cases effectively
- Experience handling statutory liens and treating physician liens
- Strong understanding of California personal injury claims and insurance practices
- Ability to manage significant case volume without sacrificing accuracy or client service
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable work style
- Competitive, performance-driven mindset with strong professional judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment during local business hours
- Comfortable working in a performance-focused environment with computer activity monitoring
- Spanish-language fluency preferred
