Pre-K Teacher Assistant @ Lakeforest Elementary

Responsibilities

• Aid in planning and organizing educational activities for students.
• Develop and support classroom procedures.
• Prepare teaching materials.
• Participate in achieving program goals and objectives.
• Monitor classroom behavior according to guidelines and crisis management procedures.
• Ensure prompt, responsible, and courteous performance of assigned duties.
• Create a safe and healthy environment for students.
• Foster a secure and nurturing emotional climate for students and staff.
• Keep the classroom neat and clean.
• Engage actively with students in various activities.
• Communicate with and build rapport with students' family members.
• Facilitate health and hygiene routines for students.
• Accompany teachers on home visits.
• Drive a school bus if required.

Qualifications

• Understand appropriate behaviors of typical and atypical preschoolers.
• Function as a role model for students and their families.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents/guardians.
• Facilitate early literacy learning and oral language development.
• Encourage problem-solving and creative expression in young children.
• Perform tasks without direct supervision.
• Work harmoniously with other staff members.
• Successfully complete bus driver training and obtain a CDL.
