Pre-K Generalist Teacher Assistant (EOY)

Location: Carpenter Elementary

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help the teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Keep the teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff‑development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining student records, attendance, and files.
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or U.S. equivalency.
• Associate Degree, 48 college credit hours, or successful completion of an academic assessment.
• Valid Texas Educational Aide certificate.
• Preferred: Six months of relevant work experience or successful completion of a specific teacher‑assistant training program.

Work Environment

The noise level is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to the job. Remote or alternate work arrangements are not available; regular, punctual attendance on campus is essential.

Pay

• Minimum Salary: $29,528.00
• Median Salary: $36,900.00
