Pre-K Counts Teacher Aide

About the role

The Teacher Aide position (also known as Child Care Assistant or Teaching Assistant) will work Monday through Friday, daylight hours, 9 am to 2:30 pm, in the preschool center.

Responsibilities

• The care and supervision of children, ages 3 years to 5 years old
• Assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
• Supervising indoor and outdoor play time
• Inform parents about the child's day
• Clean and organize the preschool room /toys / equipment
• Participate in quality initiatives, such as Keystone Stars, for enhanced programming
• Provide a nurturing, educational experience in the Preschool classroom

Qualifications

• Required: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, Psychology, Criminology, Speech Pathology, Music Therapy, Women's Studies, or any related major
• Able to lift or move up to 40 pounds without assistance
• Able to provide acceptable PA Criminal clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Dept of Human Services clearance
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment
• Possess strong communications skills (verbal and written); able to communicate information to a diverse audience
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or any related Human Services field
• Experience as a child care assistant, AGS, or paraprofessional is helpful
