About the role
Primary areas of responsibility include active participation in both predoctoral and graduate teaching, research, and patient care at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
Responsibilities

Provide feedback and evaluation in ways that preserve dignity, promote learning, develop consistency, and allow others to make valid decisions.
Use all methods and modalities of teaching and assessment appropriate to one’s teaching assignments.
Be accessible to students and colleagues. - Service: Perform activities for the common good of the School of Dentistry, the university, one’s professional groups, and the community.
Bring distinction to the School of Dentistry by one’s actions.
Exercise and model leadership through helping others work cooperatively for shared goals. - Patient Care and Management of Patient Care: Promote patient oral health and satisfaction with care in our clinics.
Make referrals as appropriate, but not for one’s own benefit.

Participate in quality assurance and other programs designed to improve the overall effectiveness of the school’s clinics.

Requirements
- Licenses: Qualified candidates must possess a DMD/DDS from an ADA-accredited school of dentistry and a certificate from an Advanced Education Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Current advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification.
Licensed or licensure eligible in California. - Working Conditions: Position requires coordination of a variety of responsible duties in stressful non-clinical and clinical situations.
Some travel to San Francisco may be required for calibration, faculty development or other needs as determined by the Department chair.
Qualifications
- Licenses: Board certification is highly desired.
Experience: Previous experience in an academic setting preferred. - Other: Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
Physical Requirements
- Physical Requirements: Work performed is primarily general office/administrative/direct patient care with frequent use of computer keyboard and phone.
Requires sitting, standing, bending, walking.
Occasional lifting of up to 15lbs should be anticipated.
Hiring Range
$65 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
