About the Role
Under general supervision, this role involves contacting insurance companies on behalf of the Medical Center’s physicians to obtain pre-certification for testing or therapy. You will gather necessary personal and medical information from physician offices for authorization, perform computer data entry, and maintain records related to patient certification.
Responsibilities
- Obtain pre-certification from insurance companies for various medical tests and therapies.
- Collect and verify personal and medical information from physician offices for authorization purposes.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records related to patient certification.
- Work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring speed and accuracy in tasks.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to function independently and pay close attention to detail.
- Clerical, data entry, and typing skills, including filing and record keeping.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD, HCPCS, and/or drug codes.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or minimum 5 years of experience in a related field).
- If HS or GED prepared, a minimum of one year of experience is required.
- One or more years of related insurance experience in a healthcare facility or physician’s office preferred.
Schedule
Full-time, Days (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
Pay
Minimum starting rate: $17.00 per hour. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and skills. Eligible employees may receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other wellness resources.
