Pre-Admission Testing Registered Nurse (PAT)

Pre-admission Testing RN is responsible for preparing patients for surgery and procedures by conducting comprehensive assessments, ensuring accurate documentation, and coordinating care to promote optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include Perform thorough pre-admission assessments including medical history, medication reconciliation, and physical examinations to evaluate patient readiness for surgery or procedures.Educate patients about their upcoming procedures, including preoperative instructions, fasting guidelines, and post-operative care plans to ensure understanding and compliance.Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans and communicate pertinent information effectively.Screen patients for potential risks related to anesthesia or surgery by reviewing medical histories including laboratory results; identify patients requiring additional evaluation or intervention.Assist with specimen collection/processing, IV insertions, venipuncture, and aseptic techniques during preoperative procedures when necessary.Monitor patient vital signs and conduct physical examinations while assessing physiological status to detect any contraindications or complications prior to surgery. REQUIREMENTS Current California RN License Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification.One to two years of acute care experience.
