Practice Supervisor
Job Summary
Captures and oversees the daily operations of outpatient practices. Supervises clinical support staff, including all applicable human resource processes and operational duties.
Essential Functions
- Recruits, hires, evaluates, trains, and develops support staff.
- Serves as day-to-day supervisor and provides direction to support staff.
- Assigns work and monitors performance.
- Maintains and coordinates managed care/billing functions including referral process, insurance verification, registration, cash collection, encounter forms, and billing.
- Assesses and manages operational functions such as patient scheduling, wait times, staff coverage, ancillary tests, follow-up appointments, phone systems, transcription services, and volume issues.
- Oversees purchase orders, petty cash, and check requests.
- Maintains and orders office supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- No experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
- Licenses and Credentials: Requires 0-1 year of supervisory experience and 2-3 years of experience working in an academic healthcare environment.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of Office Suite, excellent communication and organizational skills, strong leadership skills, ability to work with staff of all levels, excellent time management skills, knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, ability to adapt to multiple and rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
