About the role

The Adventist Health Northwest Heart Center, located on our medical center campus, provides advanced cardiovascular care, bringing together expert providers, innovative treatments and compassionate support for patients across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and performs certified medical assistant back office functions as needed.
  • Helps to oversee and give guidance to the operations of the assigned clinic/s.
  • Ensures clinics are operated in accordance with regulatory requirements and Adventist Health Policies and Procedures.
  • Communicates operational opportunities and best practices to the Practice Manager or Administrator.
  • Works with the Practice Manager or Administrator to ensure that the appropriate revenue management policies, procedures and systems are in place to allow for billing and collection effectiveness.
  • Utilizes the appropriate performance reporting structures, to include performance scorecards, operations and financial reporting (such as performance ratio analysis, and other region and/or clinic specific metrics).
  • Exercises independent judgment in training, coaching, overseeing assigned staff.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Five years' technical experience: Preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), American Medical Technologist (RMA), California Certifying Board of Medical Assistant (CCMA), Multiskilled Medical Certification Institute (National Certifying Board of Medical Assistants or NCMA) partnered with Nation center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience: Required Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): Required Facility Specific License/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $21.99 to $32.96. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
