An established and growing architecture and design firm is seeking a Higher Education Practice Leader to join its Austin, Texas office. This role is ideal for a design-focused leader with a passion for creating impactful learning environments and building long-term client relationships within the higher education sector. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in higher education design, strong leadership skills, and the ability to guide projects from concept through construction while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to higher education architecture projects from planning through construction.
- Develop innovative design solutions that align with client goals and institutional missions.
- Prepare and oversee design presentations, construction documents, and project deliverables.
- Foster strong client relationships through effective verbal, written, and visual communication.
- Guide design development throughout all project phases.
- Collaborate with internal teams across multiple office locations.
- Support project execution while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 15+ years of architecture and design experience.
- Extensive experience designing higher education facilities is required.
- Strong understanding of the architectural design process and project delivery.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of building materials, systems, and construction documentation.
