About the role
The Practice Development Officer will support the growth and operational success of wealth management practices at Cerity Partners by facilitating new business opportunities, enhancing client relationships, driving marketing initiatives, and ensuring operational effectiveness. This role requires a strategic liaison with expertise in client, colleague, and operational success, along with a strong financial background to uncover and unlock opportunities across the firm.
Responsibilities
- Practice Development, Relationship Management and Growth Support:
- Cultivate trusted relationships with practices and collaborate on clear, actionable growth plans.
- Develop and execute strategies for client acquisition, retention, and revenue growth within practices.
- Facilitate lead flow by uncovering new opportunities, optimizing processes, and identifying client prospects.
- Leverage central lead development capabilities to generate new lead flow for practices.
- Provide insights on P&L performance, market trends, and new practice investment opportunities.
- People and Practice Development:
- Assist with onboarding and training of new advisory personnel in collaboration with internal teams.
- Provide ongoing guidance on colleague relations, performance management, and professional development.
- Operational Support, Reporting and Strategic Initiatives:
- Ensure practices adhere to firm policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Work with shared services to identify and implement operational improvements that enhance practice efficiency.
- Communicate operational support resources and efficiency improvements to advisors to enhance client experience.
- Maintain and build internal practice reporting and tracking of key performance metrics related to client acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
- Practice Integration:
- Support the onboarding and ramp-up of new practices, ensuring alignment with firm wealth management, central solutions, specialty practice offerings, and client service standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous growth and optimization within practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 10+ years of experience in wealth management, business development, practice development, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of investment advisory business models, financial products, wealth management principles, client relationship management, and industry best practices.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience in marketing, client acquisition strategies, and lead generation.
- Deep knowledge of control-side risk considerations, human resources policies, hiring best practices, and employee relations is a plus.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to guide practices toward shared goals.
- Ability to communicate complex financial data and concepts in layman’s terms.
- Ability to analyze data and industry trends to drive strategic decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, marketing tools, and financial planning software.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Wealth Advisor to high-net-worth clients.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in wealth management.

Pay
$200,000 - $225,000
