Practice Coordinator Neurosurgery Clinic
This position is in our high-volume Neuroscience Institute where 19 providers with 8 specialties provide the most advanced care for conditions impacting the brain. Our expert neurologists are improving care and research for many conditions including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and brain injury. Our skilled neurosurgeons provide cutting edge therapies for complex conditions such as brain aneurysms, epilepsy, spinal disorders and many other conditions.
About the role
As a Practice Coordinator in this clinic, you will be part of our in-clinic support staff and assist with the smooth operations of the practice and ensures quality patient experiences. The Phoenix campus has over 730 licensed beds, several unique specialty units and is the new home for medical discoveries, thanks to our collaboration with the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. The campus responsibilities include fully integrated multi-specialty and sub-specialty clinics and has operations in multiple locations spanning across the Phoenix metropolitan city.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the smooth operations of the practice and ensures quality patient experiences.
- May supervise and provide direction to non-physician staff, including direction, orientation, educational needs, performance reviews and disciplinary functions.
- Responsible for the daily workflow of the office.
- Assists in the resolution of operational and administrative issues and conflicts in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Covers front and/or back office functions.
- May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed, consistent with demonstrated competencies and state scope of practice.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with staff, providers, and other departments.
- Serves as a role model and resource person for providing quality patient care and patient information as needed.
- Assists in maintaining office policies and procedures in accordance with physician requirements, facility and system policies, standard practices of the profession, and related regulatory requirements.
- Assists with ordering, tracking and maintaining product inventory; replenishing and dispersing supplies to ensure all areas are appropriately stocked.
- Assists in maintaining a clean, functional environment.
- Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
- Functions autonomously to provide guidance ensuring quality patient experiences and efficient practice operations.
- Requires working knowledge of referral and authorization processes and the ability to navigate multiple computer programs while handling multiple demands on time.
Internal customers include all patients, staff and clinic providers. External customers include the community, vendors and non-clinic providers and facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certain assignments may require current certification as a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant or current LPN license.
- At least two years of experience in a physician's office or medical environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
