PRAC Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Oversight of daily program operations including DME inventory tracking and analysis
• DME fitting and patient education
• DME documentation management and billing
• Onsite management of orthopedic DME supplies
• Ordering, documentation, and data entry of durable medical equipment and related supplies
• Establishing and monitoring inventory of orthopedic DME
• Conducting proper on-site patient fitting and patient education of all DME
• Managing DME precertification and preauthorization requests
• Tracking and organizing necessary paperwork to facilitate insurance billing of DME
• Educating clinic staff members and providers on proper DME policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• DME experience preferred
• One to three years of experience in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• One to three years of experience in prior authorizations, particularly in DME or rehabilitation preferred
