Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator

About the role

Southern Orthopedic Specialists, PA is seeking a Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator/Orthotic Fitter to fit, adjust, and make modifications to orthotic devices such as braces and splints prescribed by healthcare professionals. The position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, in an in‑person clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, measure, and fit patients with orthopedic braces and supportive devices
• Provide education and training to patients and caregivers on the use and maintenance of orthotic devices
• Work closely and collaborate with medical professionals
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
• Comply with all safety and infection control standards
• Ensure patient satisfaction by providing excellent customer service
• Order all orthopedic braces and medical supplies for the orthopedic clinic

Requirements

License/Certification: LPN, CMA, ATC, COT

Skills

• Problem‑solving skills to identify issues with braces and make necessary adjustments for comfort and functionality
• Patience and excellent interpersonal skills to work with patients who may be in pain or discomfort and to communicate effectively with medical staff
• Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology to understand each patient’s specific requirements and constraints
• Technical expertise to properly measure, fit, and adjust orthotic equipment to meet individual patient needs
• Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients in fitting and wearing orthotic devices and to perform tasks requiring precision

Pay

Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
