Role Description The PQC Architect is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) architectures across WISER’s technology initiatives. This role involves defining secure system and software architectures, selecting appropriate PQC algorithms, and creating integration patterns for existing and new applications. The PQC Architect collaborates with software development teams to design and review secure implementations, ensures interoperability with legacy systems, and provides technical leadership on PQC standards and best practices. Daily activities include drafting architectural diagrams, writing technical specifications, reviewing code and integration plans, coordinating with project managers and stakeholders, and contributing to documentation and training materials. The role also involves monitoring emerging PQC research, participating in relevant working groups, and advising on risk, compliance, and long-term cryptographic strategy. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Architecture and Architectural Design, with experience creating secure, scalable system and cryptographic architectures.Candidates should possess hands-on Software Development skills, including implementing security controls and working with modern programming languages and frameworks.Candidates should possess Integration skills, with experience designing and managing the integration of PQC solutions into existing applications, APIs, and infrastructure.Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including planning, prioritizing, and coordinating multi-stakeholder technical initiatives.Solid understanding of cryptography fundamentals and emerging post-quantum cryptographic standards (e.g., NIST PQC) is strongly preferred.Experience with security architecture in cloud or distributed environments and familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices is beneficial.Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
