Job Summary
MOR PPM Inc. is seeking plant mechanics in Aiken, SC. The Plant Mechanic will perform as a skilled mechanic in the constant improvement of maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Constant improvement, fabrication, and repair of Tire Manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings.
- Have a valid Driver’s License.
- Experienced in industrial maintenance work.
- Ability to work independently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic electrical skills.
- Have a complete set of a mechanics’ tools appropriate for maintenance and repair (company will provide access to specialized tools).
- Able to demonstrate proficiency in all the above areas.
Preferred Experience
- 3+ years PM and industrial or commercial repair experience.
- 2 to 3 years Metal fabrication experience is a plus.
- Technical school training or degree is a plus.
- PLC experience is a plus.
- Welding experience is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign.
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.
- Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
- Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders.
- Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises.
- Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
Safety
- Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
