About the role
MOR PPM, Inc. seeks a Project Manager supporting various customers and projects in multiple locations within the industrial mechanical, electrical, and civil construction sectors. We serve the fossil and nuclear power, pulp and paper, chemical, mining, and general manufacturing industries, providing a full range of industrial facilities maintenance and process maintenance services.
Responsibilities
- Monitors the execution of the PPM safety program and the performance of work by internal staff and external vendors; champions a Safety-First Mentality.
- Works closely with current and future customers, peer Project Managers, and support teams to manage and develop project and Site Managers.
- Handles PM-level aspects of cost management, including estimating, budgeting, forecasting, billing, and establishing priorities and resource allocation.
- Uses extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts to identify and process scope changes, address issues, and communicate project milestones.
- Continuously develops relationships to identify and cultivate opportunities.
- Devises new approaches to problems and prepares or modifies drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs; monitors work for compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
- Ensures all equipment, tools, and employees assigned to projects operate in accordance with PPM policy, government regulations, and customer requirements.
- Supports and communicates all compliance-required programs, ensuring project teams adhere to them.
- Provides regular updates on project statuses to the executive leadership team.
- Travels to job sites regularly to oversee projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree applicable to the position. Years of experience may substitute or combine with a college degree or completed apprentice/training program.
- Demonstrated success in team leadership, process adherence, ownership/commitment, learning agility, and risk management.
- Strategic thinker capable of establishing and managing plans while building and fostering relationships.
- Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
- Proficient PC skills, including knowledge of cloud-based Microsoft systems such as OneDrive and Office 365.
- Experience and knowledge of project management scheduling software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including oral, verbal, and written communication and reasoning.
- 10-15 years of experience in pulp and paper processing, power, industrial, and/or manufacturing markets managing projects up to $1M.
- 10-15 years of client relationship and business development experience, including leading bid preparation and development with a successful record.
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel an estimated 50% of the time.
- Must adhere to customer/job site requirements, including:
- Ability to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
- Full range of motion consistent with age.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
- Adequate hearing to respond to voice commands, alarms, and other job-related noises.
- Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination consistent with working at heights and on uneven surfaces.
- Safety/steel toe shoes are required.
