PPG Medical Assistant

This position is approved for an LPN or Medical Assistant. Eligible for a $2,000 – $4,000 sign-on bonus.

About the role

Responsible for assisting with daily clinical and clerical operations of the assigned physician practice(s). Works in collaboration with the physician team to provide quality care to patients and quality support to providers through consistent communication. Assists Physicians with care and assessment of all age groups within the Standard of Care set by Parkview Health System and the Nurse Practice Act, in the respective working state.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily clinical and clerical operations of the assigned physician practice(s).
  • Collaborate with the physician team to provide quality care to patients and support to providers.
  • Assist Physicians with care and assessment of patients across all age groups.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent with GED.
  • Completion of a medical assistant program that meets certification eligibility requirements.
  • Graduate of a school of nursing.
  • Must complete General Orientation, Patient Care Orientation, and PPG practice orientation as provided and required.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).
  • Current state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Additional certifications may be required for specific areas.
  • Medical assistant or physician office experience preferred.
  • Sufficient previous clinical experience (during training) in area of assignment.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical and clerical operations, service excellence, and clinical quality initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with computers; electronic medical record experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, assist with 100 lbs.
  • Experience in customer service, establishing priorities, and working independently.
