About the Role
Position is a day-shift Power Washer at the Louisville, IL Truck Wash, part of The Maschhoffs, the largest family-owned hog production network in North America.
Responsibilities
- Flush the inside of livestock trailers using a 1” high-volume hose.
- Power wash entire trailers including gates, ramps, ceilings, I-beams, and floors with a turbo-tip power washer.
- Inspect trucks/trailers for cleanliness and defects that may affect animal safety; report defects to the Truck Wash Supervisor.
- Comply with all company requirements on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report all accidents and/or work-related injuries to the appropriate manager, including the Safety Team.
- Communicate effectively with team members and managers.
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
Work Environment
- 20% to 40% of time spent outdoors exposed to potentially difficult environmental conditions.
- 80% to 90% of time spent kneeling or stooping.
- Subject to irregular work schedules, temperature and weather extremes, tight schedules, and other stresses related to washing large commercial motor vehicles.
- Exposure to noise and vibration levels higher than typical conditions while washing.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- No prior experience required; one year of power washing experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Bio-security precautions relating to pork production facilities.
- Transport power washer standard operating procedures (SOP).
Skill in:
- Washing equipment with high-powered washers.
- Hooking/unhooking various commercial trucks/trailer units, raising and lowering landing gear, operating the 5th wheel release lever.
- Climbing ladders of different designs to access locations.
- Manually handling material and equipment requiring lifting/handling force up to 50-75 pounds.
Ability to:
- Lift and pull up to 50 to 75 pounds.
- Handle exposure to dust, noise, odors, and temperature extremes.
- Operate a power washer.
- Stand, stoop, and remain alert for up to 11 hours with a 1-hour break.
- Perform squatting, kneeling, bending, and climbing during the wash process.
- Properly enter and exit vehicles 10 to 20 times per day using various step and handhold configurations.
- Use a shovel to move and/or clean material.
- Occasionally reach above shoulder level, at waist level, and below waist level for maneuvering and directing controls.
- Spend at least 10% of the day standing and 90% working on surfaces such as concrete, metal, and slippery/wet surfaces.

Pay
Targeted pay range of $16.50–$19.27 USD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
