Nexora is seeking a Power BI Developer to join the Commercial Excellence team. This role owns the full lifecycle of Power BI reporting and dashboard delivery—from scoping requirements with internal customers to building, maintaining, and auditing dashboards. The position focuses exclusively on the Power BI layer, including report/dashboard development, data modeling within Power BI, DAX, visualization design, and governance. It does not cover data warehouse architecture, ETL/ELT pipeline development, or upstream data engineering.
Responsibilities
- Commercial Analytics & Business Insights
- Establish and maintain a standardized commercial analytics foundation supporting all commercial and operational performance and productivity.
- Collaborate with IT Data Warehouse developers to feed the North American Data Lake into Power BI.
- Apply strong business and financial acumen to architect thought-provoking solutions and prioritize the build pipeline.
- Define a clear commercial KPI framework in partnership with Finance and IT, ensuring:
- Consistent definitions across business units.
- Establishment of a single source of truth with confidence in data accuracy and reconciliation.
- Alignment between executive, business unit, and frontline views.
- Lead the development and prioritization of analytics and dashboards (Power BI and CRM-embedded) tailored to:
- Executive leadership (enterprise-level visibility).
- Business unit and sales leadership (performance management).
- Frontline sellers and managers (daily execution).
- Integrate additional data sources to provide next-level insights across the business.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, decision-oriented insights, highlighting not just “what happened,” but “how, where, and why to act.”
- Continuously improve insight relevance by grounding analytics in real sales questions and field feedback rather than static reporting requirements.
- Ensure analytics outputs are intuitive, consumable, and designed for speed of interpretation in live sales and leadership environments.
- Build trust in the numbers among sales and leadership teams, ensuring they understand the drivers behind the data and use it for strategic decision-making.
- Partner with Internal Stakeholders
- Gather and define reporting requirements.
- Translate business questions into clear dashboard/report specifications.
- Prioritize and manage a backlog of Power BI requests across internal teams.
- Run discovery sessions to clarify KPIs, metrics, and intended audience for each report.
- Power BI Development
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards end-to-end.
- Develop and optimize data models within Power BI (star schemas, relationships, calculated tables).
- Write and maintain DAX measures, calculated columns, and calculation groups.

- Configure Power BI datasets, dataflows (within Power BI Service), and scheduled refreshes.
- Manage row-level security (RLS) and access controls on published reports.
- Publish and maintain workspaces, apps, and content distribution in the Power BI Service.
- Dashboard Governance
- Conduct regular audits of existing Power BI dashboards for accuracy, performance, and adherence to design standards.
- Identify and remediate broken visuals, outdated logic, orphaned reports, or unused datasets.
- Maintain an inventory/catalog of active dashboards, owners, and refresh schedules.
- Monitor report performance (load times, query efficiency) and optimize as needed.
- Establish and enforce naming conventions, documentation standards, and version control practices for Power BI content.
- Review and validate DAX logic and data accuracy against the source of truth.
- Collaboration & Support
- Provide training and light enablement to internal customers on self-service Power BI usage.
- Troubleshoot report issues and respond to ad hoc requests from business users.
- Document report logic, data lineage (within Power BI), and business definitions for maintained dashboards.
