Specific Job Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development of controls technologies and algorithms
- Supporting creation and documentation of system-level requirements for controller development
- Identifying, troubleshooting, and documenting technical issues
- Developing foundational technical knowledge in generator control system design
- Supporting cross-functional teams in documenting system risk analyses
- Providing technical input during team design reviews
- Investigating, resolving, and documenting generator system technical issues
- Participating in technical discussions with internal teams and occasionally external parties
- Building and sharing technical knowledge through internal forums, training, and professional development activities
- Supporting special technical projects as needed by the department
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Basic programming knowledge in C, C++, or a similar high-level language
- Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink
- Strong verbal and written communication and cross collaboration teamwork
- Strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage assigned tasks and small projects with direction and oversight
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to tools such as PSPICE or OrCAD
- Familiarity with PLC programming
- Understanding of Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies
