Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development of controls technologies and algorithms
  • Supporting creation and documentation of system-level requirements for controller development
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and documenting technical issues
  • Developing foundational technical knowledge in generator control system design
  • Supporting cross-functional teams in documenting system risk analyses
  • Providing technical input during team design reviews
  • Investigating, resolving, and documenting generator system technical issues
  • Participating in technical discussions with internal teams and occasionally external parties
  • Building and sharing technical knowledge through internal forums, training, and professional development activities
  • Supporting special technical projects as needed by the department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Basic programming knowledge in C, C++, or a similar high-level language
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Strong verbal and written communication and cross collaboration teamwork
  • Strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage assigned tasks and small projects with direction and oversight

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to tools such as PSPICE or OrCAD
  • Familiarity with PLC programming
  • Understanding of Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies
