About the role
The Power Systems Engineer is responsible for developing and validating models and simulations for electrical power systems. This includes creating detailed EMT (Electro-Magnetic Transients) models, simulating system behavior under various conditions, and conducting rigorous test validations to ensure system reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Create and validate EMT models for power systems using industry-standard tools.
- Simulate system behavior under transient conditions to identify potential issues and optimize designs.
- Conduct comprehensive test validations on simulated systems to confirm their performance meets specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation results into design processes.
- Document all modeling and testing procedures, findings, and recommendations for future reference.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in power systems engineering or related field.
- Strong proficiency in EMT modeling software such as PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent.
- Experience with power system analysis and test validation methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of power system standards and regulations.
- Experience with power system hardware and instrumentation.
- Understanding of power system dynamics and transient phenomena.
