Job Responsibilities

Develop models for power systems elements such as conventional and renewable generating plants, voltage support devices, etc.

Perform model validation and large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for clients like power producers, independent system operators, and transmission providers.

Develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations by applying power systems planning principles, simulation and analysis of power system steady state, dynamic, and transient behaviors.

Develop mathematical models for reliability assessment of electrical networks.

Deliver on-site technical consulting/training services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power and Energy Systems and practical experience in using advanced power system analysis tools.
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience including engineering internships.
  • Knowledge of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow, transient stability, and/or electromagnetic transients.
  • Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience.
  • Ability to travel 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of PSSE, PSLF, PowerWorld, TARA, PSCAD and/or Python.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $68,830 - $117,994 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
