Power Plant Technician, Senior (Tier 2) - Manda Bay

Maintained, Troubleshooted, Repaired and Ensured Ongoing Operation

• Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and ensures ongoing operation of a large-scale power generation facility (including generation equipment, power distribution / balancing systems, fueling and related systems) with a generation capacity typically exceeding 1 MV.
• Monitors generating equipment, control/distribution systems, plant output and related components as necessary to ensure safe plant operation and effective power generation on an ongoing basis.
• Troubleshoots and repairs/replaces all generators, control/distribution components and fueling/support systems as necessary to restore and maintain continual power plant operation.
• Tests equipment to determine cause of any malfunction or failure, using voltmeters, ammeters, and related electrical testing apparatus.
• Repairs and replaces equipment, such as relays, switches, load balancing/control systems, and indicating and recording instruments.

Safety and Physical Requirements

• Safely operates all tools and equipment required to access work locations and complete necessary repairs or upgrades.

Job Knowledge and Skills

• High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and six (6) years to nine (9) years related experience.
• Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.

Language Proficiency

• To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
