About the role
The O&M Power Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe work practices, monitoring plant operations, managing budgets, and assisting in the development of staffing plans. This position requires extensive experience in electrical systems, particularly in PV power generation, and supervisory skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work practices and monitor plant operations using DAS, SCADA, and CMMS systems.
- Assign and oversee maintenance tasks, focusing on optimizing plant performance and efficiency.
- Conduct analysis of inspection and testing data and ensure timely submission of reports.
- Participate in system design, scope of work, and legal contract reviews for new projects.
- Manage regional plant maintenance budget, inventory, and purchasing.
- Perform acceptance inspections on new plants and generate acceptance reports.
- Assist in developing and training employees, and assist with or lead interdepartmental maintenance operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with minimum 5 years of experience in electrical systems, including 2 years in PV power generation.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in electrical work.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory and PV power generating system fundamentals.
- Aptitude for learning and understanding various testing equipment and procedures.
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate with peers and external parties.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and ability to learn new software.
- Valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- Physical requirements include working outdoors for extended periods, traveling to remote sites, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and wearing PPE.
- Visual acuity is necessary, with or without correction, and the ability to distinguish colors.
Skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and state/local codes.
- Experience with PV power generation systems and related maintenance.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
