Power Line Technician

This recruitment is for two High Voltage Distribution Specialist positions. A sign-on bonus of $4,460 is available for the successful applicant, paid in two installments within 12 months of hire: $2,230 within 30 days of hire date and $2,230 twelve months after hire date.

About the role

Electric Distribution Systems is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of all roadways, parking lots, and area lighting systems, currently comprising 3,319 lights. This position serves as the High Voltage Specialist responsible for maintenance of electrical distribution underground/overhead systems, transformers, power metering, electric system closed high-speed networking, and all smart grid equipment and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical distribution systems (underground and overhead)
• Work with transformers and power metering
• Operate and maintain electric system closed high-speed networking
• Manage and troubleshoot smart grid equipment and technologies
• Utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) for system mapping and analysis
• Follow EDS switching procedures
• Use IBM Maximo system for work management
• Coordinate and collaborate with contractors on the EDS system
