About the role
We are hiring a Power Generation Rental Specialist in Chicago, IL. This position involves generating income by renting electric power generation equipment and selling used equipment inventory to various customers.
Responsibilities
- Generate income by renting electric power generation equipment and selling used equipment inventory to commercial, industrial, oil and gas, and seasonal customers.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers.
- Collaborate with customers to provide specific equipment solutions and ensure all equipment deliveries meet rental agreement conditions.
- Maintain and develop customer relationships, aiming to achieve and exceed yearly revenue goals.
- Support regional sales teams with product and application guidance, as well as training when needed.
- Create and execute an annual territory sales plan, manage accounts, and secure agreements.
- Coordinate with the appropriate branch office to prepare sales contracts, documentation, and collections for orders and projects.
- Record daily and weekly activities, quotations, and sales funnel monitoring in the CRM system.
- Quote prices and credit terms, align on agreements, and prepare appropriate paperwork for orders.
- Show excellent customer satisfaction skills and build strong internal and external relationships.
- Show strong PC skills and adapt to changing technology.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines and promoting a safety culture.
- Show a clean driving record and possess a valid driver's license, capable of operating equipment for demonstrations.
- Be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems, act decisively, and persist in the face of obstacles.
- Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in one-on-one or group situations, over the telephone, and via email.
- Able to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
- Able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
- Able to multitask and work independently with little supervision.
- Intermediate computer experience with all MS Office products.
- A valid driver license and good driving record.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or technical degree or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.
- Two to five years of power generation experience and sales.
Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Intermediate computer experience with all MS Office products.
- Ability to operate equipment for demonstrations.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
