Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control the operation of 3 biomass boilers and a turbine generator, ensuring safe and efficient performance.
  • Perform operational troubleshooting and minor repairs on all boiler-related equipment as needed.
  • Implement preventive maintenance procedures to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and address any issues or improvements related to boiler operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of boiler operations and maintenance activities.
  • Aid in training and mentoring less experienced team members on boiler operations and safety protocols.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance boiler efficiency and overall plant performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in boiler technology.
  • Support other departments as required, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: Trade Certification or High School Diploma.
  • Licenses: Minimum Maine HP Boiler Operator License; Preferred Maine 4th Class Boiler Operator License or higher.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant work experience in boiler operations.
  • Physical Condition: Strong physical condition, able to lift and carry equipment as needed.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of boiler systems, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; proactive approach to safety.
