Summary
Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Helper to support utility-scale projects. The role involves assisting with installation, repair, and maintenance of energy equipment under the guidance of a journey-level electrician.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using various hand tools
- Safely use hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.)
- Lift, position, and fasten objects
- Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools for electrical trades
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment
- Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and procedures
- Pull DC and MV wire and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Some construction and/or electrical experience
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to read and interpret documents (safety regulations, blueprints, etc.)
- Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools
- Willingness to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions
- Knowledge of electrical systems
- Ability to handle materials weighing up to 200 lbs
- Frequent repetitive hand, arm, leg movement
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs with assistance
