Power Delivery Substation Project Manager

Responsibilities
- Coordinate, administrative, management, and analytic support for projects
- Coordinate and communicate with all levels of management and disciplines throughout the project life cycle to support project cost and schedule objectives, both internally and within the client’s systems
- Oversee project budgets, review costs, and ensure adherence to planned budgets to maintain client satisfaction and financial success
- Document project deliverables, including correspondence, project changes, and project files, ensuring thorough record-keeping
- Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring consistent communication to drive satisfaction and retention
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support future opportunities
- Includes client in-office presence 3+ days a week and periodic site visits
- Adhere to proven processes and ability to develop new processes to standardize procedures
- Adhere to safety regulations and enforce project safety standards
- Develop and foster effective strategies to engage project stakeholders at all levels, maintain effective relationships, and report on project progress
- Provide verbal and/or written inputs to multi-disciplinary project teams and contribute to providing high level strategic advice to clients
- Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide “trusted advisor” service and future ready solutions for clients
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 7-10 years of relevant post-education experience
- 5+ years of substation physical and electrical design experience
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Strong attention to detail and technical writing skills
- Highly proficient understanding of project delivery process within the Power Delivery/Utility industry and strong background and experience in project management
- Advanced proficiency with analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management
- Advanced proficiency with interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively, persuasively, and tactfully with leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization
- Excellent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC
- Advanced proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools
- Prowess in elicting cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, subcontractors, consultants, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exists
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet project-specific needs

The role is hybrid, requiring the selected candidate to work from the Client's office a minimum of 3 days per week.
